I’ve been using this free Chrome extension for structured data for years called Schema Builder for Structured Data.
It’s pretty magical. And it’s especially valuable if you’re still learning how to create structured data and what needs to be included. Essentially, you can open a page that you know has schema applied that you’d also like to use, and the tool will show you how they wrote it.
You can then use a simple form to fill in all the important elements of that structured data, and it’ll output the code you need to apply to any given page on your website. 10/10 highly recommend checking it out.
Ahrefs is a well-known and widely used SEO tool that offers various features to help with structured data optimization, and it is a favorite of ours to use. It provides tools and reports for keyword research, site auditing, backlink analysis, and competitor analysis, which can indirectly support structured data implementation by optimizing overall website performance and visibility.
Ahrefs also offers insights into search engine rankings and content strategies, allowing SEO professionals to make data-driven decisions to improve their website’s visibility in search engine results pages.
Bing Markup Validator
The Bing Markup Validator is a tool that validates the validity of structured data markup on a website. It enables you to submit a URL or paste your markup code for validation against Bing’s standards. The tool flags any errors or warnings, assisting you in identifying and resolving problems with your structured data implementation.
While not specifically a structured data tool, Google Analytics can be used to track the performance of structured data on a website. Setting up custom reports and dashboards can help SEO professionals monitor the impact of structured data on traffic, rankings, and other key metrics, identifying areas for improvement and making data-driven decisions to optimize websites for search engines.
For example, tracking the click-through rate of rich snippets can help identify opportunities to improve the relevance of structured data to search intent and increase traffic.
Google Markup Helper
When it comes to structured data tools for SEO, my favorite is Google’s Structured Data Markup Helper. This free tool allows website owners to add structured data markup to their HTML and improve Google’s understanding of the content on their site.
The Markup Helper has a user-friendly interface that allows users to select the type of content they want to markup (such as articles, events, or products) and then highlight the relevant parts of the page. This tool can help increase the visibility of a website in search engine results pages by providing more informative search results.
By using the Structured Data Markup Helper, website owners can improve their website’s SEO and give users a better browsing experience.
Merkle’s Schema Markup Generator
The Schema Markup Generator from Merkle is a comprehensive utility that facilitates the creation of schema markup for various content types.
It includes schema types for articles, events, products, and organizations, among others. The application provides a user-friendly interface for inputting the necessary information and generating schema documentation in JSON-LD format.
Yoast SEO Plugin
One highly regarded tool for optimizing SEO is a popular plugin that provides structured data functionality. With its powerful features, you can easily give search engines a crystal-clear understanding of your content.
Imagine how it feels when search engines devour every piece of structured data you feed them, making your website shine in search results. It’s like giving your SEO strategy a turbo boost. It improves the chances of appearing in relevant search results and attracting organic traffic.
The tool’s user-friendly interface and extensive features make it a valuable asset for website owners and SEO professionals. Its ability to effortlessly generate structured data contributes to a more efficient SEO strategy, improving online visibility and increasing website traffic.

Structured Data Linter
Structured Data Linter is a handy tool, particularly for validating structured data. It supports several formats including Microdata, RDFa, and JSON-LD. You can input a URL or directly paste your code, and it will check for errors and display a preview of how the structured data may appear in search results.
By ensuring your structured data is error-free, you can optimize your website’s SEO performance and increase the likelihood of appearing in rich search results.
Google Search Console
Google Search Console provides essential insights into the performance of your website in Google’s search results.
While it is not predominantly a structured data tool, it does include a Structured Data section that helps you identify any problems or errors in your structured data implementation. It also gives structured data performance reports, indicating which rich results appear in search and how well they perform.
JSON-LD Markup Generator
This tool simplifies the procedure by allowing you to input pertinent information and automatically generate the JSON-LD code. It supports numerous schema types, including those for articles, local businesses, and books, among others.
Wordlift is THE structured data tool, although it is more than just that. Wordlift is an AI-based solution that allows you to automate the process of adding structured data. Instead of using plain text as the property value within your schema, Wordlift links to entities (e.g., URLs that represent entities and contain structured data on those entities), allowing you to add a tremendous amount of relevant information as structured data, fully automated.
Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool
There are several popular structured data tools used for SEO purposes. My most useful and favorite tool is Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool. It allows me to validate and test structured data markup on web pages.
It also helps to ensure that our structured data is implemented correctly and understood properly by search engines. Furthermore, tools like JSON-LD Playground and Yoast SEO for WordPress offer features to generate and optimize structured data markup. The choice of your desired tool depends on individual needs and the platform.
