I serve as the Head of Marketing & People Ops at WeblineIndia, where my role sits at the intersection of market strategy and team development. I focus on how we position complex software services while also ensuring we attract and grow the right engineering talent to deliver them.

A big part of what I oversee today involves AI-led initiatives, especially agentic AI systems that automate multi-step business tasks. Lately, I’ve been involved in projects where AI copilots are embedded into business workflows and where automation tools like n8n or Zapier help companies reduce manual processes. It’s a mix of understanding client problems, shaping the right tech approach, and ensuring the teams behind it can execute well.

What career choices and inflection points led you to bridge marketing, people operations, and engineering leadership in AI and custom development?

My career started on the HR side of the software services industry, working closely with engineering teams and focusing on hiring and nurturing talent for complex development projects. An early inflection point came from sitting in on project discussions and realizing how closely team capability connects with client expectations. It became clear that great software outcomes depend as much on the right people as on the technology itself.

That exposure gradually pulled me toward marketing and client strategy. Understanding what clients look for in AI solutions and custom software helped shape hiring priorities and team structure. Over time, the role naturally turned into a bridge between talent strategy, engineering leadership, and market positioning. That mix now influences how AI initiatives, custom platforms, and cloud-based solutions are shaped and delivered.

When scoping an AI or agentic build, how do you translate market signals and team capabilities into a focused engineering roadmap, and what one ritual or document makes that translation work?

When scoping an AI or agentic build, one practical way to translate market signals into an engineering roadmap is to start with a short problem brief instead of jumping straight into features. This document usually captures three things: the real business problem clients keep repeating, the AI capability that can realistically solve it, and the internal team strengths that can support the build.

One ritual that makes this work is a short cross-team “solution framing” session before development planning begins. Marketing brings recurring client pain points, engineering outlines technical boundaries, and people ops highlights available skill sets. The outcome becomes a focused roadmap that prioritizes a few high-impact capabilities like AI copilots, workflow automation, or data-driven decision tools rather than building broad but unfocused AI features.

In hiring for AI/agentic software teams, which portfolio signals or interview exercises have most reliably predicted success, and what is one question you never skip?

When hiring for AI teams, one strong signal in a portfolio is proof that the candidate has built something that connects LLM models to real workflows. Not just model experiments, but systems where AI triggers actions, integrates with APIs, or automates a multi-step task. Projects that show prompt design, orchestration, and error handling often reveal practical thinking beyond theory.

A useful interview exercise is asking candidates to sketch how they would design a small AI agent that solves a real business task, like processing support tickets or summarizing data from multiple sources. This quickly shows how they think about logic, guardrails, and system flow.

One question that never gets skipped is: “Tell me about a time your AI output was wrong in production. What did you change after that?” The answer reveals debugging habits and accountability.

What cross-functional practice has most improved speed and quality on your AI-heavy projects, and how could a five-person team adopt it within a week?

One practice that consistently improves both speed and quality on AI-heavy projects is running weekly “AI workflow reviews.” Instead of reviewing only code, the team walks through the full decision chain, including prompts, data inputs, model behavior, and the actions the agent takes. Many AI issues reside in prompt logic, tool orchestration, or edge cases rather than in pure code.

A five-person team can adopt this practice within a week by scheduling a 45-minute session where one feature is demonstrated end-to-end. The developer explains the prompt structure, the model response pattern, and where failures occur. The group then suggests guardrails, retries, or workflow tweaks. This habit quickly improves prompt design, reduces hidden errors, and helps everyone understand how the AI system actually behaves in real use.

Drawing on your healthcare and cybersecurity experience, how do you define data scope and guardrails early so agentic systems remain safe, compliant, and useful, and what checklist item do teams most often miss?

I don’t directly define the technical scope for client AI or agentic projects, but through my experience working alongside engineering and solution teams in healthcare and security-focused environments, I’ve seen how this can be structured early to keep systems safe and compliant.

One useful approach is starting with a data boundary map. I’ve seen teams outline what data the agent can access, what must remain masked, and which actions require human approval. Limiting the agent to specific APIs, datasets, and predefined tasks prevents it from interacting with sensitive systems in unpredictable ways.

In my observation, one checklist item teams often miss is defining clear “no-action zones.” I always encourage teams to identify situations where the agent must pause and escalate to a human instead of making an automated decision.

How do you set and review success metrics for autonomous agents in production—beyond accuracy or latency—and what lightweight dashboard cadence keeps stakeholders aligned?

When looking at autonomous agents in production, accuracy and latency only tell part of the story. In my experience, the more useful metrics focus on task completion quality and operational impact. I usually look at things like:

  • Successful task completion rate,
  • How often the agent requires human intervention,
  • Retry frequency,
  • Whether users override the agent’s decisions.

These signals reveal whether the system is actually helping teams or quietly creating extra work.

For alignment, a lightweight weekly dashboard review works well. I prefer a simple snapshot showing three areas:

  • Agent success rate,
  • Human escalations,
  • Failure patterns.

A short 15–20 minute check-in with product and engineering stakeholders keeps everyone aware of where the agent performs well and where guardrails or prompts need adjustment.

What upskilling or change-management move—whether around low-code tools like Power Automate or custom agents—has most increased AI adoption across developers and nontechnical staff, and how did you measure its impact?

One move that has noticeably increased AI adoption is introducing small internal “use-case sprints.” Instead of broad AI training sessions, the idea is to ask developers and nontechnical staff to bring one repetitive task from their daily work and spend a short session building a simple automation or AI assistant around it. Tools like n8n, Zapier, and Power Automate make this approachable even for people without deep coding skills.

What makes this work is that people see a direct benefit tied to their own workflow. To measure impact, I usually look at how many of these small automations move into regular use and how often teams reuse or expand them. When multiple departments begin adapting the same idea, it’s a clear sign that AI adoption is taking hold organically.

Borrowing from your interests in football and photography, what habits or metaphors help you coach teams and frame problems on high-pressure AI deliveries, and what is one practice readers can try this month?

One habit borrowed from football is thinking in “next play” mode during high-pressure AI deliveries. In football, a mistake on the previous play can’t slow the team down—the focus immediately shifts to the next move. I try to bring that mindset to project teams by breaking complex AI problems into small, winnable steps. Instead of debating the whole system, the team focuses on the next test, the next prompt change, or the next workflow improvement.

One practice readers can try this month is a 15-minute “reframe break.” When a problem stalls, step back and ask: What’s the next small play? What’s the right frame for this problem? Teams often unlock progress quickly with that shift.
