Lean Approach in Supply Chain Management

I’ve always been a fan of the “lean” approach to supply chain management. This means that I try to make my supply chain as efficient as possible by eliminating waste and adding value throughout the process.

For example, when I was working with one of my clients, we found they were over-ordering their inventory because they didn’t have a good way to track how much was being used. By implementing a simple tracking system, we could cut down on excess inventory costs and reduce shipping costs.

Evaluate Current Processes and Provide Solutions

I’ve always been a big believer in the power of innovation. I believe that, as a supply chain manager, my job is to innovate and make sure that our processes are always improving.

The first thing I do when I’m trying to innovate is look at what we’re doing right now. What are the problems and the challenges? What could we improve? Afterward, I will brainstorm solutions for those challenges and figure out how to implement them.

Once you have a plan for how you want to innovate and change things, then it’s time to put it into action. Sometimes this can take years—or even decades! But if you’re committed to this process, then you’ll have a much better chance of making your supply chain work better than ever before!

In-House Dry-Ice Production in Cold Supply Chain

At Frozen Logistics, we excel in fulfilling direct-to-consumer orders for perishable goods. Our facility is optimized for the entire cold supply chain, from inventory management to storage. A key feature is our virtual warehouse, dedicated solely to order fulfillment, with efficient carton-flow racks and specialized stations for quick and accurate packing.

One of our major innovations is our in-house dry-ice production. This investment enables us to create dry ice in various quantities, tailored to each package, ranging from 3 lbs to 30 lbs. This minimizes waste and cost, giving our e-commerce clients a competitive edge.

Having dry-ice production on-site streamlines logistics, allowing us to offer cost-effective dry-ice pricing and reducing their overall online selling expenses.
