Ahrefs for SEO Reports

I track the main keyword for every piece of content that should drive organic traffic, using Ahrefs’ Rank Tracker. It sends weekly or monthly updates that I can forward to my clients or make part of SEO reports. You can also export the data or integrate it into Google Data Studio dashboards, if needed.

However, keep in mind that people tend to make misleading conclusions based on single keyword position movements. SERPs are volatile, and the keyword tracking tool only reflects the SERP at the time of the snapshot.

For this reason, I’m a huge fan of Share of Voice/SERP visibility metrics that reflect your traffic share of all the tracked keywords. If this metric goes up over time, you’re most likely on a path to SEO success.

Lastly, I like tagging bottom-of-the-funnel keywords so I can quickly filter how my clients perform for their most valuable keywords that drive conversions.

Real-Time Reports with Google Looker Studio

Our SEO ranking reports are made using Google Looker Studio.

Looker Studio allows us to create real-time reports that blend data across multiple platforms like Google Search Console and Google Analytics. You can also use Ahrefs and SEMrush for these reports, but we’ve found that GSC and GA are enough.

We use our reports to track query rankings through Google Search Console and conversions/events from GA. The beautiful thing about Looker Studio is that it bypasses Google Search Console’s 1,000-row limit, so we have access to triple the amount of data.

So, obviously, it works great for client reports, but we also use it internally to have access to more query data.

Using Searchmetrics Suite

Our SEO ranking reports are generated using the Searchmetrics Suite Platform, an incredibly useful tool that offers valuable insights into both organic and paid rankings on major search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo.

Designed with digital marketers of all experience levels in mind, the platform provides intuitive dashboards for effortless analysis of keyword trends over time. You can also dive into individual pages to enhance visibility for specific terms or related topics.

SEMrush for Comprehensive Reporting

Our agency uses SEMrush heavily. We leverage SEMrush’s position-tracking tool and ranking report. We show the high-level traffic and keywords charts with the lines for different positions. We use the ranking position distribution bar chart. We also include SERP features, as these are ever more important.

There is the traditional list with keyword, URL, position with the decline/improvement metrics, as well as the estimated monthly traffic based on the keyword search volume. This is augmented with the search intent of the keyword.

This information is compiled into a monthly report.

We have several other methods of reporting this data and the result of it. There is more of a trend towards topical relevance than exact keyword ranking. Ultimately, we are driving to meet client KPIs.

Accurate Insights with Ranktracker

A comprehensive SEO ranking report necessitates the inclusion of targeted keywords, accompanied by their average search volume, and a comparative analysis of the current month’s or week’s rankings versus the previous period. At Supramind, the prowess of Ranktracker (SEO Power Suite) has been leveraged for over a decade.

Ranktracker, a steadfast and dependable desktop-based tool, excels in providing accurate ranking insights. Its versatile features allow users to customize search engine preferences, location settings, and even desired speed, ensuring that your ranking requests remain compliant and avoid being perceived as spam or automated by Google search.

Additionally, this tool is equipped with an invaluable add-on, automatically detecting and handling captchas imposed by Google, streamlining the tracking process for seamless and efficient SEO analysis.

SERanking for Cost-Effective Reports

Different tools were tested, but the final choice was SERanking, a Ukrainian company. This tool offers a user-friendly and straightforward interface, along with all the necessary functionality. Moreover, switching to this tool resulted in an annual saving of more than $500.

Rank Ranger for Simplified Reporting

Our SEO ranking reports are provided by Rank Ranger, a comprehensive tool that simplifies the process of tracking our website’s performance in search engine rankings. Each month, Rank Ranger generates consolidated PDF reports that contain the most relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to improving our visibility on search engines.

The best part is that we don’t need any coding knowledge upfront to use this tool. The reports include user-friendly graphs that illustrate popular search queries and compare our performance against competitor sites based on relevance. These insights enable us, as business owners, to identify opportunities for further optimization strategies if necessary.
