Be Active in Your Niche and Ask Someone You Admire
Be proactive about finding a mentor!
As you research your niche, pay attention to whose advice you admire. Make notes about social messaging that you find compelling, and save information about people you connect with in groups. Research the person who impresses you most and start engaging with them publicly.
You want them to know and recognize you before you ask whether they can be your mentor. If they’re very high profile, the answer is likely to be no. But that is good because you want to immediately follow up with whether they can recommend someone else!
People in the same niche tend to be aware of each other, and someone actually doing implementation is in the best position to evaluate how much others know. Hopefully, they’ll suggest one or more peers. If not, research another person you admire and do it again.
Most people are pleased to be asked to share their expertise, and those who make it to the top are frequently the most helpful people around!

Linkedin Online Event
I met my career mentor at an online event during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I feel that meeting people in the industry was more effortless during the lockdown. Everyone was looking for opportunities to connect with new people they had missed, and we were automatically more open.
At that time, I really appreciated the opportunity to connect with people from my industry and exchange knowledge. I wasn’t looking for any kind of mentorship; it just kind of felt right to establish regular contact, and that’s how it all began.

Establish Connection in the Field and Keep Learning
One strategy that I personally use and can recommend to everyone looking to find a mentor in digital marketing is simply expanding our network and establishing connections within the field.
For example, I would participate in industry events, join professional groups, engage in online discussions, or reach out to individuals whose work I respect.
Another tip is to start with having a clear objective and understanding of the type of mentor that we seek. This can help refine our search and effectively communicate our aims.
The last thing to keep in mind is that I have to take the initiative in my own professional growth, demonstrating my dedication to learning, and making me a more attractive mentee to potential mentors.

Digital Marketing Conferences
I remember when I was first getting into digital marketing, it felt like looking for a needle in a haystack trying to find a mentor.
However, I did eventually manage to stumble upon one after attending conferences and networking with others in the field. It took some effort on my part since I had to constantly reach out and introduce myself, but it definitely paid off!
Not only did I learn invaluable knowledge from this mentor about the hustle of digital marketing, but luckily for me, they also had an amazing sense of humor that kept our conversations entertaining.

Show Passion to Learn and Grow
I have been in SEO for about 8 years, and my experience has taught me that you don’t get mentorship without showing passion to learn and grow.
Over the years, I have had several mentors in different phases of my career. I have had the chance to be mentored whenever I tried to go above and beyond my day-to-day duties and try to learn a new skill set that could help me learn and grow as a responsible working individual.
For people looking to find mentors in digital marketing, it is important to learn the tricks of the trade on your own and then ask your seniors or peers about their experiences and how they have grown themselves as individuals.

Do Lots of Internships
While I was completing internships, I met my mentor in digital marketing.
Applying for appropriate internships is the ideal option for you to move forward and discover a trustworthy digital marketing mentor for yourself. You cannot only study the ins and outs of the industry by working as an intern for a seasoned professional, but you can also get to know them personally and turn them into your mentor while you master digital marketing. You will be able to identify your strengths and areas of weakness through routine engagement with them and assignments they assign, as well as obtain practical technical skills for digital marketing.
Nothing compares to solid industry experience and practical practice. You can gain experience and access to a digital marketing specialist who can mentor you by doing an internship with a reputable digital marketing agency. This allows you the chance to discover your abilities, learn new things, and internalize a solid work culture.

Attend Meetups
It took me a long time to find a digital marketing mentor who was genuine and could guide me towards my goals. Attending meetings, conferences, and events helped me find a mentor in the field of digital marketing. This is one way you can discover a digital marketing mentor to help you reach your objectives and dreams.
Digital marketing-related conferences are held often throughout the year. Make sure you routinely attend digital marketing conferences, events, meetups, and seminars both online and offline if you’re seeking for a digital marketing mentor to guide you on your path to learning and professional advancement.
Connect with like-minded, seasoned people and share your insights with them to get helpful feedback while at the event. It should be mentioned that in order to secure a mentor for learning digital marketing at such events, you will need to sharpen your conversational skills and be able to demonstrate at least some evidence of your prior knowledge of the subject.

Engaging On YouTube
I found my mentor in digital marketing by interacting with his videos on YouTube on the basics of digital marketing.
This was a few years back when I was just starting out in digital marketing, and I was looking to consume every second of video content available on digital marketing. I would ask questions under their videos, and over a period we built a rapport that eventually led to me pitching if they could become my mentor, and they agreed.
Fast forward from that pitch, and I’ve been able to launch my SEO app for ecommerce and also offer custom SEO services to merchants through my company.
