The best way to draw in a casual or attention-deprived reader of your LinkedIn profile is to make it sound like you are speaking directly to them, from your heart and mind. Not something AI composed.
Rather than boring them in any and all sections with resume-y bullet points and incomplete sentences, in every place you offer your career narrative on your LinkedIn profile, use the pronouns “I,” “me,” “my,” and “mine” in every sentence, employ richer verbs than “has,” “was,” “made,” “did” because we’re better educated than that (google “185 powerful verbs”), use the right tense of that rich verb (ensure that what you are involved in now is in present verb tense and all earlier career explanation is in past tense), only speak in the active voice (never passive voice which signals uncertainty), be consistent in your written formats throughout (never mix them such that it looks like an overedited hodgepodge), minimize acronyms and tech-specific terminology because not everyone reading is an industry peer, scan carefully for unclear thoughts and typos (hint: use Microsoft Word’s Read Aloud function to have an artificial voice read it back to you to include more quality edits), and, finally, add white space between short paragraphs to separate thoughts and make the prose more visually attractive (so they are more inclined to read all about you).
This requires an investment of time and it’s worth it. Engage the reader with your personal style so when they contact you for the next step in the budding relationship, the right first impression continues to build.

I get a few leads every month on autopilot from my LinkedIn profile because of one feature no one knows about. I’m talking about the featured section of my LinkedIn profile. Most people don’t realize that this is a great place to put your call-to-actions, such as “Book a call” or “Download my guide.” By clicking on the pencil section and then on, “Add link,” you can put whatever webpage you want.
One tip: don’t add anything to the description of that section as it will cause LinkedIn to make a pop-up appear and the user then has to click on “view” to continue. For some reason, if you don’t add anything to the description it will remove that middle step and your prospect will be taken directly to the link location. Don’t forget to add a visual graphic to enhance your call to action (otherwise LinkedIn grabs this graphic from whatever image it can find on your website).
